Sustainability at WDC2019
The 24th World Congress of Dermatology has been planned to be an example of harmonious balance between human activity, resource use and environmental impact, rather than a resource-gulping and garbage-producing.
Being inspired by the principles of sustainability, the PCO Triumph Italy srl is certified ISO 20121:2013, means selecting proper venues, engaging stakeholders, identifying and managing issues and impacts and designing-in positive outcomes.

Congress venue
WCD2019 will be held at MiCo which has effectively pursued the objective of sustainability adopting the most suitable solutions made available by technology, involving not just energy saving, but sustainability several aspects:
- air-conditioning: since 2014, is available a function for resetting and optimization of the systems has been in operation so as to achieve the highest possible level of efficiency, with a significant energy saving
- lighting: in rooms, halls and common areas have been replaced most of the traditional fixtures in favor of new generation Led lamps featuring DALI technology. This transformation makes possible a valuable cut of energy consumption by up 60%
- flooring: almost 80% of the MiCo indoor premises are floored with a high-tech resin with a low level of volatile organic compounds, less than 1%.

Food waste
WCD2019 is engaged with the project to fight food waste Food for Good. Through Banco Alimentare and Equoevento, the WCD2019 PCO will be put in touch with the non-profit organizations located in the region in which their event is taking place, so that they can collect the surplus food at the end of the lunch or dinner ect. The recovered food will be then delivered to charitable organizations (family homes, soup kitchens and refugee centers).
Transport
In order to encourage the use of public transportation all the participant to the WCD2019 will receive a weekly travelcard which covers the entire transportation system of Milan.
Suppliers and human resources
WCD2019 will mainly involve local suppliers and human resources to reduce the transfers and therefore the exhaust gases emissions. This will also allow greater involvement of Milan and then a better use of its excellences in terms of professionals and manpower.
