Scholarship awards will be offered by the WCD to assist meritorious participants from around the world to attend the Congress.
Scholarships will cover the costs of registration fee and accommodation for 5 nights (travel, in selected cases only).

Requirements for Scholarship Applicants:

  • Applicants must participate as the presenting author in at least one World Congress scientific activity such an oral communication and/or a poster presentation. Abstracts for oral/poster presentations must be submitted online by September 15, 2018
  • All scholarship applicants who are trainees must submit verification of their educational status, such as a letter from the Department Head or Program Director
  • Attendance at the World Congress must not also be supported by industry. (The committee reserves the right to rescind scholarships to awardees whose abstracts and/or attendance were supported by industry).

Definition of Scholarship types

WCD Trainee Scholarship

  • An applicant who is in training in dermatology as a resident or fellow (medical students are not eligible for scholarships).
    Please attach a letter from the Department Head or Program Director.

WCD Rising Star Scholarship

  • A dermatologist under the age of 40 at the time of the World Congress (June 10, 2019) and not at the rank of Full Professor.
    Please attach a copy of your passport.

WCD Dermatologist Scholarship

  • Certified dermatologists residing in one of the countries defined by the World Bank as Low income or Lower-Middle income.
    Please attach a copy of your passport.
